Flat Staking & Units explained

Betting the same fixed amount — one unit — on every selection, making results comparable and honest.

Flat staking risks an identical amount, called a unit, on every bet regardless of confidence. A unit is usually 1–2% of bankroll. Its great virtue is honesty: profit measured in units cannot be flattered by convenient stake-weighting after the fact, which is why transparent tipsters publish results as '+8.40 units' rather than in currency.

All results on this site are settled at flat one-unit stakes: a winning bet at odds 2.50 books +1.50 units, any losing bet books −1.00, a void books 0. It is the plainest possible accounting — no 'confidence multipliers' applied in hindsight, no way to dress up a losing month.

Worked example

Ten flat-staked bets: 4 win at average odds 2.40, 6 lose. Profit = 4 × 1.40 − 6 × 1.00 = −0.40 units — a 40% win rate was not enough at those odds. The same record at average odds 2.80 would book +1.20 units.
